Webb Weighs In To Stop Sensationalizing Service
Jim Webb – potential Obama VP, scrappy Reagan-era former-conservative and bonafide war hero – weighed in eloquently on the subject of McCain acting as though his military service was a sacrosanct qualification for the White House.
“…[T]ake politics out of service,” Webb said. “…[D]on’t be standing up and uttering your political views and implying that all the people in the military support them because they don’t, any more than when the Democrats have political issues during the Vietnam War. Let’s get the politics out of the military, take care of our military people, or have our political arguments in other areas.”
Noble notions.

Let’s see how long it takes for the press and the McCain camp to act as though Webb said McCain wasn’t a hero and should be placed in an old folks’ home to wither away quietly.
UPDATE!
Here we go, posted at 11:01am PST. Woo-hoo; 101 minutes! Not bad reaction time for someone in their seventies.
