The 72-Year Old Boy
Lies. Temper tantrums. Willful ignorance of complexity.
McCain’s not 72 going on 73. He’s 7.
I must remind myself whenever I feel a pang of remorse over denigrating the man I supported in 2000, “He was so much older then, he’s younger than that now.”

Oh man! Is anyone surprised?! The CW has repeatedly said that the problem with John McCain is not his ties to every known lobbyist on the world, his connection to the Keating 5, his saber rattling-world dominating stance that could possibly lead us into a war with Russia or anyone else who happens to be handy, his endless reliance on an experience that happened over 40 years ago and that was shared by many, many others but would appear, if you listened to him, to apply only to himself — but the fact that he is old, not older, but old. I live in a senior community and, so, fall into his category. I see and sometimes experience on a daily basis a loss of cognitive focus, reasoning and perspective, physical inadequacies, and an obstinate dependence on the past, as in the “good old days.” I do love the good old days! It is a reminder that we should take great care in choosing a President — someone who can’t see beyond “ago,” or someone who can see the future. Even though I would need my glasses, I would gladly look to the future.
