Obama Press Conference On Wright
Showing some of the inimitable quality he offers to the Presidency, Obama spoke off the cuff today about Reverend Wright, declaring himself to be “outraged” over his former pastor’s comments.
Obama said, “I am outraged by the comments that were made and saddened by the spectacle that we saw yesterday.”
Obama noted that Wright “obviously hadn’t shown any concern” for him, but more importantly, hadn’t shown concern for the movement of change he is trying to accomplish.
At a time when Wright’s baggage is plummeting Obama in all pertinent polls, his statements may be the redemption his candidacy so dearly needs.

I am continally impressed and drawn to Senator Obama for his eloquence and ability to rise above. I applaud the fact that he tried to stand by the Reverend and then because of the outrageousness of his comments, had to divorce himself from the situation. Reverend Wright is using his 15 minutes of fame (alright, it’s been 20 minutes, thanks to the ever-intrusive media) to use his pulpit as a means of venting against and demonizing our country and to get back at someone, anyone. I would hope that thinking Americans would see beyond his “religious” rhetoric to see what is truly an embittered and hostile person. Enough of the smirking!
